Terms of Service

Welcome to Eventson. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Eventson platform, websites, and services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

Eventson is an open-source platform for discovering events, running communities, and selling tickets. Because the project's core is open-source under the GNU AGPLv3 licence (certain Enterprise features are under a separate commercial licence), you may also self-host the open-source core under the terms of the AGPLv3.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use the Service.

3. Organizing events

As an organizer, you are responsible for your events, their content, and their lawful operation. You must have the right to host the event and sell any tickets you list. You are responsible for honouring tickets sold and for any tax obligations arising from your sales.

4. Tickets, payments and fees

Paid ticketing is processed by Stripe. Free events are always free to host. For paid tickets, Eventson charges a service fee (2.5% on the Pro plan) plus Stripe's processing fees, deducted at the point of sale. Payouts are made to your connected Stripe account on the schedule shown in your dashboard.

5. Refunds

Refund policies are set by each organizer and shown at checkout. Where an event is cancelled by the organizer, attendees are entitled to a refund of the ticket price. Service and processing fees may be non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Custom domains

Pro subscribers may connect their own domain. You must own or control any domain you connect and are responsible for your DNS configuration. We provision SSL certificates automatically. You remain responsible for content published on your domain.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including unlawful, fraudulent, hateful, or harmful activity, spam, or attempts to disrupt or reverse-engineer the platform. See our Community Guidelines for the full standards we expect.

8. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you upload, and grant Eventson a licence to host and display it as needed to operate the Service. The Eventson name and logo are our trademarks; the underlying core software is available under the GNU AGPLv3 licence (Enterprise features under a separate commercial licence).

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached. Certain provisions, including those on liability and intellectual property, survive termination.

10. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, Eventson is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for events themselves, which are the responsibility of their organizers.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes, and continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
